step by step®
|
| |
| |
In February, we used the social networking site, Kickstarter, as a forum to generate interest and financial support of our new K-5 curriculum, reaching (and surpassing) our pledge goal of $3k.
Step by step® gently introduces young learners to the concepts of robotics and computer programming by actively engaging elementary school-aged students in designing and 'writing' programs that they can then carry out.
Step by step® is currently being used, assessed, and evaluated at The Children's Center Preschool and Daycare Center in New Milford, CT and in the Salisbury (CT) Public Schools.
We continue to look for beta testers of this curriculum and our long-term goal for this product includes the development of two additional levels appropriate for children through grade 6.

Open House
|
| |
| |
On March 3rd, we held our inaugural open house at the downtown New Milford Train Station. From 10am-4pm we had a steady stream of visitors and estimate attendance between 400-500 people including families, educators, retirees, hobbyists, area professionals, local officials, science and technology enthusiasts, and ardent proponents of improved STEM education in grades K-12.
Over 40 local, New Milford-based businesses donated products, services and/or gift certificates valued at more than $2k allowing us to raffle off 5 individual prize baskets and raise $800 in raffle ticket sales.

We now have a permanent home in beautiful, vibrant downtown New Milford! Just over Veteran's Memorial Bridge as you enter town, you'll see 30 Bridge St. originally built in 1871 and lovingly restored in 2006.
Suite 204 with its 990 sq. ft. of open space, is our new location for both our administrative offices and our programs beginning with this year's week 4, 5, and 6 of Robotics Summer Camp.
Join us at our new home for an informal house warming on Friday, April 27th from 5-7pm as we'll be onsite for an art exhibit featuring the works of local artist Rosemary Connor. The event is FREE!
