Program:  Homeschool Robotics and Electronics Program: Session 2

This program is designed for a private homeschool group and is not open to general registration. Students are committed to attending both of two sessions. Session 1 will introduce basic robotics and programming concepts. In Session 2, students may choose to work on more advanced robotics, mechanics and programming projects, or move into the subject of electronic circuitboards, devices and programming. Students pay also choose to develop a project with the intention of presenting it at a Maker Faire event in the Spring if an event is scheduled at a convenient location.

Actual planned dates were extended by one week due to loss of two snow cancellations so the total number of class weeks will be 17.

Session 1: Jan. 9, 16, 23, 30. Feb. 6, 13, 27. March 6, 13, 20.

Session 2: March 27, April 3, 10, 24. May 1, 15, 22.

Program:  Step Turn And Learn: an Introduction to Computer Programming
When:       This program is not currently scheduled but can be offered upon request.

Ages:        5-12
Cost:         $50.00

Working in pairs, students as young as 5 will quickly learn important basics of computer programming using this great game developed by Robotics And Beyond.

Concepts of how computers process instructions, step-by-step logic, Go, Stop and Loop are all made easily understandable. This class provides an excellent basis for young children to start programming with actual computer software in our robotics and electronics classes. Time at the end of each class will be set aside for some math-based projects involving geometry and fractals.

Homeschool Programs!
Robotics and Beyond offers custom classes for homeschooled students. Morning and afternoon times are available. Classes can be held either at our New Milford location or a place of your choosing to minimize group travel. Choose from all of our workshops and other programs listed on the Programs tab at the top of our website. You can also request a new subject. Sessions can include just one or several topics. Cost will vary slightly depending on the topics chosen, duration of the session and, for some topics, the number of students. For classes at your location, cost will also depend on travel distance.

In addition to the availability of all of our topics, examples of classes we have conducted for Homeschool groups include:
    Step Turn And Learn ™ (an introduction to the thinking skills used in computer programming)
    Maker Faire project mentoring lasting several months (at Homeschool location or our office)

    Introduction to Robotics and Computer Programming
    Introduction to Electronics, Micro-controllers and Computer Programming
